I went to the library alone everyone in my group had already left. It was very difficult for me to get there because I am not really familiar with the 1 train and that’s the one you have to take to get there. While I first went in I got a little bit surprised because it looked like if it was a museum. I didn’t really stay for long because I was alone and I felt very bored and uncomfortable. But while the time being there I went to the three floors. In the first floor I saw some pretty interesting things such as orchestra collections, cds from old to now the present; they had library catalogs for the people who want to listen to the music that interests them. After just looking around a little I went up to the second floor which was something like the first just that they had different types of stuffs such as music books and a right next to that was a music desk. There was a catalog that had different types of songs. There was also something that caught my attention they had seating’s for us the visitors and music of all types of genres but the most popular ones were jazz and classical. They also had a couple of books on dance, film, and art. Then while on my way to the third floor I realized there was so much security and they were making u leave your stuffs behind that I didn’t even bother going in I just headed back down and just left. But this trip would’ve been more interesting if I went with classmates. Hopefully in the future I will get 2 explore it all from head to toe.

My Birthday is coming up

Well this week I am very excited my birthday is coming up may 13th . This Spring break was very crazy. I had so much fun went out clubbing and played handball in the park. As everyone can see I got more tanned. It was very hot good weather to just be outside and getting a tan. In the class I have been learning a lot of new things. For example I learned how to use the key for writer’s book, how to write in a college level and use proper grammar. I've had so much fun in college is my first year and I met a lot of new people and made new friends. Everyone is more laid back there is no fights and is peaceful. In the class I have had a lot of help from classmates. I learned how to work in a group and search the library. We had a scavenge hunt and it was fun because I learned how to look for a section or specific type of book. Also how to use the library through a computer. They have all different kind of magazines, newspaper articles, journals, and catalogs in the homepage of the library. I never wrote so many essays in a semester like I have done so far in Dr.Smiths class. There very complicated to do at times and I am kind of bad at grammar and sentences. But while doing my blog’s and workshops I have gotten help and learned little by little were I made my mistakes and corrected them. I have had no problems with any of my teachers they really have helped me out a lot and I am learning and concentrating. Like I mentioned in the beginning of the semester I tend to slack of school and I was going to try and focus. I have improved so much and I am very proud and would like to keep going and get my masters but my only problem is that I don’t know what career to choose. Any of my classmates or teachers have an idea of what I can choose? I really want to pursue in a career of building and construction. Dr.Smith do you know any colleges were I can apply to after a year in this school? Well this was an open blog about anything this is what has been going on with me any comments let me know. going green part 2

Not all the people realize that global warming is messing up the planet and us the people have to try our best to maintain it safe and keep it from getting polluted. I have been trying my best to save the planet ever since I saw the movie “Inconvenient Truth” it made me realize that the littlest things we do can save the planet and make it a safer place to live in. for example I have been turning off my computer in the nights before going to sleep, Before I use to leave it on the whole night and day until I used it. I saw that it takes up a lot of energy and is risking the planet from a blackout. I have also been using the light bulbs that don’t really take up a lot of energy and electricity, there not cheap but if it’s going to save the planet I’m willing to do it. My mother didn’t realize it but after I told her what I had learned she agreed with me on saving the planet at first she was confused but then she understood how global warming can finish the planet in no time. I have been trying to live green I recycle bottles now instead of throwing them in together with the trash we have a clear plastic bag which is only for bottles or anything that can be recycled such as glass, cans, plastic, etc. the little things you do can help make earth a better planet. Also I turn off all the lights before I go out. Before we use to leave the hallway light on and we didn’t know that it takes up to much energy and how it’s affecting the planet. Now whenever I see any electronic device on and is in no use I turn it off and make sure the energy isn’t being wasted for any reason. In my own ways I also been conserving paper when I wash my hands instead of using paper towels I use my regular towel that is made of silk. It makes paper in my house last more and it helps save money and paper which is made of trees in a way they all combine together to make the planet better. I didn’t realize how much pollution goes on in a daily basis and is sad to see that there is global warming occurring makes me really scared I hope people make the choice of helping save the planet so we can live longer and not worry about us breathing air that is going to be polluted in the future. I know I am not really doing a lot to save the planet but little by little I will try and I am going to be proud of what I am achieving. trip to the library

When I first got to the library I was really confused this was the biggest one I been to in my life. At first I didn’t know where to go because there were two libraries and my class was in the other while I went through the whole library trying to find them. I pretty much looked around without the class but then I called one of my classmates and met up with them so I can catch up on things. I went to the other one were everyone was at and I looked into it and found so many different sections and it was five floors since I had gotten there late I pretty much didn’t know what to do. So I just left back to the other library and met up with Dr.Smith and we went in for a tour and were learning how the library has sections were u can’t really touch. What I found interesting was when we went into a room where they had like a bible which was very old and I’m not sure if it was Spanish or Portuguese can someone help me if they remember. This library had three floors and the stairs looked like if it was a mansion but very old the smell of it was like old books and it’s very colorful and designs. For example I remember we went into a room where there was a painting all over the roof I was in shock because it was so colorful and attracted my eyes. Also I wasn’t sure what the paintings meant because I wasn’t really paying attention but whoever did that masterpiece they did very good job. This trip was very fun to bad I got there late who knows I’m not really a fan of the library but in college I’m going to be very familiar with it. In the front of the main entrance the steps look like if you are going to walk up and see a king and it is very interesting because I never seen that before. The way it looks it reminds me of a big old mansion. I’m sure I will get to visit any other libraries with interesting books especially from the old times. In my opinion the library is boring for the simple fact that I am not a reader. Whenever I have to visit a library I get the chills and is so many rules to follow such as staying quite I’m very loud and when I have to stay quite is very hard to do. There were all different types of a person which seem interesting and prove that there is no age limit to reading a book you just have to make sure reading is your thing. In this library you’re not allowed to take home any books wit you it pretty much reminded me off a museum we get to look at them and just analyze them. This is pretty much what I can talk about this trip was pretty fun I got to explore a library for the first time I am just not a reader but who knows I’ll be back to do research.

go green

This world is gettin polluted every day which is very bad to our environment is causin alot of chemicals to be dispossed into the air which in future times can be very bad and cause health problems.i did a little research on the topic living green it was pretty intresting to see that there is so many ways to save the planet and keep it a safe place.it must be a very crazy idea to live completely green but if its for the best of people and saving the environment.with the sources it shows me how to conserve energy by buying light bulbs that are called cfl and they help safe energy.also by saving the use of paper you are helping the environment from trees bein g cut off which helps us avoid all different types of chemicals that are toxic and can pollute the air and if breathed will cause damage to your lungs.also by recyling anything that has to do with paper,glass,bottle,aluminuims,etc, this will help by reusin these scraps and building new things for the planet.while seeing the movie "The Inconvienient Truth' i relized so much things that i had no idea were being done daily wise such as global warming the more the air gets polluted the less carbon dioxide is on earth which in the future is going to be a problem because without air we would die and we need it to breath and live.i found it very unbelievable that in the future years earth is going to be destroyed and theres a chance that all the waters would just take over the land and we would be under water.Al gore really is showing the world that we should start goin green and helping our planet.if this is the only way to survive im going to start and helping the planet out myself but im pretty sure i already am such as when im home and im not watching tv i turn it off and conserve the energy.also by turning off my computer before i go to sleep that is a big issue because computers use alot of energy.in the summer time is very had to conserve energy for the simple fact that is very hot and alot of people have air conditioner and it makes them just leave it on all day and also when there not in the house but is very wrong everyone should turn them off and save that energy because imagine a blackout in the summer again that would be very bad we would literally die of hotness.in my house my mother always recycles all the bottles and cans because she always likes to keep it clean. this helps out alot specially the planet i think alot of people should relize whats going on and im pretty sure they would help and go green. i finally did that and im going to start helping the planet out in everyway i can specially at home by turnin off all lights when not needed and turning my tv off when im eithier not there or sleeping.

Well my trip to the museum was pretty fun and educational I didn’t really stay there that long but the

time I was there I explored a lot of different rooms such as the 4^th floor which has alll the animals that were extinct such as the dinosaurs,mammouths,and all different types of animals that no longer exist.i took a few pictures not much just some important ones I basically followed the sheet that Dr.Smith gave us such as the room were different types of climates and what causes it to change which is gases from the greenhouse which is made up of nitrogen,oxygen,carbon dioxide,and water vapor.durin this exploring I saw all different types of things that I didn’t even kno they were such as the section were there was animals from the past that I never even heard of.well what I saw at the museum is more believable then the film an inconvenient truth because in the film is only a visual experience that doesn’t explain the different causes of climate in the museum I got to do hands on works which I liked because it made me relize that the world in a couple of years is goin to come an end.i didn’t reallt do a lot of observations but with the help of my group I got some ideas of it some of the museum is media because its information that was made by people that explored the topic and the resources can b found in different exploring websites.the museum was a pretty good trip and in the future wen I have the chance I will go again and explore it from head to toe and I will make sure that I get information on it.when I was in the 4^th floor they had a little room that had a t.v showin different types of animals from animal planet and information which is basically media type. This shows how real life can be made into media and all it takes is a person doing research on the topic and sending there information to the museum.i hope that I visit different types of museums so I can learn more about how real life can be changed into media.

Gnosticism is basically a religious movement that teaches a belief that humans are a souls trapped in a material world created by a spirit called demiurge. the practice of Gnosticism was popular in the medditeranean and middle east in the second and third century.there was an asssumption that gnosticism had a connection with the muslim.this was really a long passage that takes a lot of concentration but pretty intresting becuase wen u read it is gonna make sense and connect with the movie the matrix and the passage the allegory of the cave. in the film of matrix most of the people were trapped in a world that u can never go back once u make a decision by taking the pill red or blue once u take the red pill u cant go back and the blue pill u can and in the passsage of gnoticism is a belief that humans are trapped in a world and it reminded me of the movie when neo takes the pill and his whole life changed and was trapped in a different world which was like 2199.in the passage of the allegory of the cave it makes a lilttle connection with the gnosticism in the allegory of the cave the two people were trapped in the cave and they believed that everything was dark that there was no son because there backs were covering the open gap for the sunlight to come in and it made it sound like they was trapped in a world with no light. the three compare to each other beacuse the main point is to show that the everyone was trappped in a world with just a belief that is made by ur assumption and also in a world were u cant go back. i had a little trouble finding the connection with the three but in the end i learned that is all common sense.
